A message from Peter Warwick
Dear Colleague,
As law firms around the world weather the current economic storm, we are seeing more and more the resilience that has made the profession such an important force both in our economy and also in the fabric of our everyday life.
Among the trends I find most heartening is the increase in pro bono work as a means to improve the communities where we work and live. As an organization, our mission is to help the legal system perform better. In doing so, we look for inspiration to the individuals, organizations and businesses that advance their cause or their case in courts across the land in the hope that they can be heard in a fair and just way.
Our long-standing partnership with firms to provide resources in support of pro bono work is one of the ways we bring our mission to life. For years, West has supported the charitable efforts of its customers by offering deeply discounted Westlaw to ensure that law firms in the U.S. have access to the best available tools and content to support their local and national pro bono initiatives. Last year alone, West donated more than $12 million of Westlaw services in support of pro bono work a number we hope to increase significantly this year.
We also are expanding our reach: Thomson Reuters is engaged in global pro bono outreach through TrustLaw, a new program from the Thomson Reuters Foundation that will provide information, resources, legal news and support materials for legal professionals around the world involved in pro bono work.
This Do Justice website provides your firm with access to West resources to support your pro bono work. Over time, it will bring to life the real human stories behind your work to illustrate our collective commitment to equal justice and equal access.
Please accept my deepest gratitude for the good work you do every day in support of a fair and just society.
Best wishes,

Peter Warwick
