Judge Jones, a Senior United States District Judge for the District of Oregon, was a distinguished trial lawyer and past president of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. Before appointment to the federal bench, he served as Circuit Judge for the State of Oregon, and as Associate Justice on the Oregon Supreme Court. He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College. Judge Jones, who has written extensively on evidence and civil procedure, also served on the faculties of the National Judicial College, the American Academy of Judicial Education, and the Federal Judicial Center.
