Lane is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Nixon Peabody, a national law firm with headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to joining Peabody & Brown, Mr. Lane was a founding member of Lane and Edson, P.C. His practice includes federal tax and related federal legislative matters, real estate and real estate securities, and corporate and securities law matters.
Mr. Lane previously served as a senior trial attorney with the Tax Division, U.S. Justice Department, secretary and assistant general counsel of the Communications Satellite Corporation, and vice president and general counsel, National Corporation for Housing Partnerships. Mr. Lane is a past President of the American College of Real Estate lawyers. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
He has authored or co-authored numerous books and articles dealing with federal tax matters, including tax refund litigation, limited partnerships, and real estate and federal housing matters. He also lectures frequently to business and professional organizations on such topics.
