Rutkin is the managing partner of Rutkin and Oldham LLC. Since 1967, he has focused a substantial portion of his practice on family law and trial work including complex financial and custody issues. He has been recognized for his expertise and excellence in the area of family law, being elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Mr. Rutkin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and earned his L.L.B. at Boston University School of Law. He has written or edited many nationally recognized and locally acclaimed publications dealing with family law topics, including serving from 1987-1997 as the Editor in Chief of the Family Advocate, the nationally commended publication of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Rutkin is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (Vice-Chairman, 1981-1984 and Chairman, 1985-1987, Family Law Section). He also regularly presents programs on domestic relations issues to the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and other organizations.
