Jerald Harris is a partner in the firm of Harris & Burgin, a professional legal
association. He earned his B.A. from Miami University where he graduated with
honors. He continued his education by earning his J.D. from the University of
Cincinnati College of Law. During his distinguished career he has been listed in several
directories such as Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in Emerging Leaders in
America, and The Best Lawyers in America (1995-96 ed.).
Mr. Harris is a member of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers Board of Trustees, the
Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, where he currently chairs the Workers' Compensation
Education Committee, and he is the former chairperson of the Social Security and
Administrative Committee and the Workers' Compensation Section. He has been
recognized for his service to these organizations by the numerous awards he has
received, most recently, the 1995 Special Achievement Award presented by the Ohio
Academy of Trial Lawyers.
As an expert in Workers' Compensation Law, he has authored texts on the 1986
Workers' Compensation Act and the 1993 Workers' Compensation Act. He is the
current editor of the Workers' Compensation Journal of Ohio published by
Banks-Baldwin. His stature as an expert in Workers' Compensation Law has made him
a sought after speaker and he has lectured and presented written material at numerous
seminars on workers' compensation, Social Security, and personal injury litigation.
