Ms. Dayton is a counsel for the Minneapolis firm Long & Reher, P.A., which provides legal services to the elderly and disabled. In addition to elder and disability law, Ms. Dayton specializes in health law and intellectual property matters.
She received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Kansas and her juris doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School. She is the founder of the National Elder Law Network, one of the nation's leading sources for free information on legal issues of interest to elder law attorneys, seniors, their families and the elder and disability advocacy community.
Ms. Dayton also is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Health Lawyers Association and the University of Minnesota-affiliated Minnesota Area Geriatric Education Center. In addition, she is a fellow of the Minnesota State Bar Association, a former professor of law at the University of Kansas (1986-2004) and a former visiting professor of law at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn. (January-May 2004).
