Donald W. Stever
Stever is a partner at K&L Gates LLP. His practice includes air, water, solid and hazardous waste, CERCLA, noise, environmental impact assessment, natural resource damages, environmental torts, oil spill counseling and litigation, and maritime environmental compliance counseling. Previously, he was a partner at Dewey Ballantine, resident in the New York office, and headed that office's environmental practice group. He has practiced environmental, health, and safety law at the state and federal levels for 30 years. Between 1979 and 1982, he headed the Pollution Control Section and then the Environmental Defense Section in the U.S. Department of Justice. He also spent five years as chief of the environmental division in the New Hampshire attorney general's office. He is the author of a widely praised book on nuclear regulation, Seabrook and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (University Press of New England 1980), as well as numerous articles on various environmental law topics, and he frequently lectures on health, safety, and environmental regulatory issues. He is also affiliated with the environmental law program at Pace University School of Law.
