Mr. Klausner is the principal in the law firm of Klausner & Kaufman, P.A. After two years in local government service, he was engaged in the private practice of law, specializing in the representation of public employee pension funds since 1979. He has served as a consultant on retirement issues to numerous state and local government entities, and has appeared as an expert witness before congressional and state legislative committees on a variety of issues facing public employee retirement systems.
Beginning in 1987, Klausner was an adjunct professor of labor and industrial relations at Nova University Center for the Study of Law. He spent considerable time as a lobbyist in various state capitals on pension bills, and assisted in the authorship of many of the current statutory provisions governing public employee retirement systems in the State of Florida.
Klausner has been a frequent speaker on pension education programs and has also published numerous articles on fiduciary obligations of public employee pension trustees.
