Francis H. Dunne serves as senior counsel in Dykema Gossett PLLC’s automotive practice group. Mr. Dunne served for more than thirty years on the General Motors legal staff and for fifteen years was GM’s principal attorney for all marketing and trade regulation matters. He has a broad based knowledge of the automobile industry, and how manufacturers operate and interact with distributors, dealers, the public, and government. Mr. Dunne spent five years as executive director, retail relations, reporting to the vice president and group executive responsible for GM’s North American sales and marketing operations. In that position he established and managed a state government/industry affairs function and was primarily responsible for managing legislative matters affecting sales and marketing operations and relations with state dealer associations. Mr. Dunne has extensive litigation and negotiation experience, including management of multi-state class litigation and government investigations.
