Michael C. O’Brien is a shareholder of VanCott, Bagley, Cornwall, & McCarthy and co-chair of the firm’s securities practice group. Prior to his current position, he practiced law with Thacher Proffitt & Wood in New York and Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C. He was also in-house counsel with E*TRADE Financial Corporation. He maintains a very broad corporate, regulatory, and litigation practice, and he has represented a variety of companies in the financial services industries before the Securities and Exchange Commission, federal and state banking agencies, and state insurance departments. Mr. O’Brien received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in philosophy from the University of Utah and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
