Gregory G. Ballard is a partner in the litigation department of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in New York City. An experienced litigator, he provides representation on securities litigation, enforcement matters, and other complex commercial litigation. He has represented numerous defendants including issuers, underwriters, auditors, directors and officers in securities cases, as well as companies and individuals in Securities and Exchange Commission investigations and enforcement actions. He has also represented clients in connection with Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, Internal Revenue Service, and U.S. Attorneys Office investigations and has conducted internal investigations on behalf of clients facing potential criminal and regulatory action.
Mr. Ballard is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he serves on the Government Ethics Committee, and the New York County Lawyers Association, where he serves on the Federal Courts Committee.
Mr. Ballard received his B.A. in 1989 from Columbia College and his J.D. in 1992 from Columbia Law School, where he was a Notes and Comments Editor of the Columbia Law Review, a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a recipient of the James A. Elkins Prize in Criminal Law.
