Norman H. Roos, Esq. is the managing partner of the Hartford, Connecticut office of Thelen LLP. He concentrates on transactional and regulatory matters relating to the real estate and financial services industries. He represents banks, insurance companies, diversified financial service companies, and other publicly and privately held companies on a broad range of matters involving mortgage banking, consumer and commercial credit transactions, regulatory compliance and electronic commerce. Mr. Roos is the author of The CMBA Handbook on Connecticut Mortgage Statutes: An Analysis and Compilation of Connecticut Legislation Affecting Residential First Mortgage Lending and the editor of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA) Newsletter. His articles have appeared in The National Law Journal, Real Estate Finance Journal, The Banking Law Journal, Mortgage Technology, and National Mortgage News, among other publications. He is a frequent lecturer at bar and trade association programs on mortgage lending, consumer credit and electronic commerce issues. Mr. Roos is general counsel of The Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association Inc. and is a member of the Board of Regents and the Connecticut State Chair of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. He served on the Policy Regulation & Consumer Education Sub Committee of the Governor’s Task Force on Sub-Prime Mortgage Lending and serves on the board of directors for the Greater Hartford Legal Aid Foundation. Mr. Roos also serves as chair of the Financial Institutions Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and the University of Michigan School of Law.
