Mallen is a partner in the law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP, a regional director of the firm and the chair of the Lawyers for Profession practice group. He practices in the areas of professional liability and insurance coverage. He is nationally recognized for his expertise in counseling lawyers on issues of professional responsibility and litigating legal malpractice claims. His expertise includes professional liability coverage, which encompasses coverage issues, coverage litigation and the drafting of insurance policies.

Mr. Mallen’s professional activities include chairing the ABA standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability, the ABA Special Committee on Medical Professional Liability and he is a member on the ABA Standing Committee on Lawyer Competence. He is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the American Law Institute. Mr. Mallen has been selected to appear in Best Lawyers in America.
