Mr. Leighton is the principal in the Miami, Floridalaw firm of Leighton Law, P.A. He is a board certified civil trial lawyer who specializes in inadequate premises security, medical malpractice, nursing home, and product liability litigation. He has published articles and book chapters on many topics such as inadequate security litigation, defective juvenile products, spinal cord injuries, and market share liability. His writings have been featured articles in Trial magazine seven times. He is a frequent lecturer at legal programs and conventions and has spoken and taught at seminars, colleges and conventions in over a dozen states.
Mr. Leighton regularly chairs inadequate security and trial technique colleges and seminars for the National College of Advocacy/Association of Trial Lawyers of America/American Association for Justice (ATLA/AAJ). He is a past executive committee member of the National College of Advocacy Board of Trustees, past Chairman of ATLAs Motor Vehicle, Highway and Premises Liability Section, and is the current Co-Chair of the Inadequate Security Litigation Group, which he has co-chaired since 1996.
