Mr. Hood is an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice working in Birmingham, Ala. He specializes in workers compensation, civil litigation and employee rights. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, the District of Columbia, Alabama, Tennessee, as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th, 8th and 11th Circuits, the U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals, the U.S. Court of International Trade, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and all U.S. District Courts in Georgia and Alabama.
He received his bachelors and law degrees from the University of Georgia. He also received a diploma in international law from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Among his legal affiliations, Mr. Hood is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Birmingham Bar Association and the Birmingham Inns of Court.
Mr. Hood has presented at numerous training seminars over the years including for the U.S. Department of Justices Office of Legal Education. He also received commendations from various federal agencies for outstanding work as an assistant U.S. attorney.
