Mark A. Rothstein
Mr. Rothstein is the Herbert F. Boehl Chair of Law and Medicine and the director of the Institute for Bioethics, Health Policy and Law at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He also is a faculty member of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law and director of the Center for Public Health Law Partnerships at the University of Louisville. Mr. Rothstein is recognized as a leading authority on genetics and the law, employment law, and occupational safety and health law.

He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his juris doctor degree from Georgetown University. Mr. Rothstein is the author or editor of more than 15 books. He is the chair of the Privacy and Confidentiality Subcommittee for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics. He also is a member of the board of directors for the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics and an adviser to the third Restatement of Employment Law sponsored by the American Law Institute.
