Jordan is a shareholder in the McNair Law Firm, specializing in estate planning, probate, and income, estate & trust, and general taxation law. Other areas of practice include fiduciary representation, private foundations, and exempt organizations.
He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1973 and has practiced law on Hilton Head Island since that time. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for South Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court. In addition, he has received his certification as a Certified Financial Planner.
Mr. Jordan received Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1968 from the Pennsylvania State University. He received a Masters degree in Business Administration in 1970 and his Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Detroit in 1973. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, a past president of the Hilton Head Island Bar Association, and a member of the American Bar Association.
Mr. Jordan is a frequent speaker at estate planning, tax, and retirement planning seminars. He has received distinguished recognition within his profession having been admitted as a Fellow in both the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the American College of Tax Counsel. The South Carolina Supreme Court has recognized him as a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law, Estate Planning, and Probate Law. He also is a Fellow, American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (1992), Fellow, American College of Tax Counsel (1996), and has been selected for Outstanding Young Men of America.
