Larry J. Saylor
A senior principal in the Detroit office of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, PLC, where he specializes in complex commercial and governmental litigation, including antitrust, dealer and sales representative termination, trade secrets, covenants not to compete, consumer protection, and constitutional and statutory matters. He regularly handles preliminary injunctions, class actions and appeals.


Before joining Miller, Canfield, he was a law clerk to Hon. George E. MacKinnon in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He received his BA in political science, cum laude, from Miami University in 1970 and his JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan law school in 1976, where he was article editor of the Michigan Law Review. Mr. Saylor also holds a Master in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. Before attending law school he served as an administrative officer in the United States Air Force.


Mr. Saylor is past chair of the Antitrust, Franchising and Trade Regulation section of the State Bar of Michigan. He served as a member and Chair of the Local Rules Committee of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and as a member of a bench-bar committee appointed by that Court to study electronic filing of pleadings. He has served as a case evaluator in the Wayne County Mediation Tribunal Association for a number of years.


Mr. Saylor has published articles on litigation topics in the Michigan Bar Journal and Wayne Law Review, and is co-editor of Litigating the Commercial Case (ICLE 1992). Mr. Saylor has also spoken to bar and business groups on antitrust compliance and sales representative disputes.
