In addition to writing several texts on construction law, Mr. Acret edits a monthly construction industry newsletter. He has practiced construction law in California for more than 45 years. Mr. Acret did his undergraduate work at Stanford University and the University of California-Los Angeles, before serving two years of active duty with the U.S. Air Force. He received his law degree from UCLA School of Law, where he was editor of the
UCLA Law Review.
Mr. Acret serves on the American Arbitration Associations Large Complex Case Panel. He also was a member of the committee that rewrote the California Mechanics Lien Law in 1969.
He and his wife reside in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
