COPYRIGHT: The April 2009 metamorphosis
In February 2008, all Dialog® gateway databases, except the COPYRIGHT database, were removed from Westlaw. On March 31, 2009, the Dialog COPYRIGHT database was removed from Westlaw, tooand on April 1, 2009, a new database of copyright information took its place.
The new database has the same identifier (COPYRIGHT) as the Dialog database and contains similar information. The big difference: The provider of the new COPYRIGHT database is West.
That means Westlaw fields and Terms and Connectors searching are in and phrase indexing is out. For example, to retrieve information about copyrights involving a specific author, e.g., David Crosby, you can type au(david /3 crosby) instead of au("crosby, david!").
