The basic information of this funding initiative is for applicants to submit proposals that aim to search, investigate, and document poorly known and unknown areas of the ocean and Great Lakes. They may do this through interdisciplinary exploration. Another goal is to advance knowledge of the ocean environment and its physical, chemical, and biological resources.
