This annotation collects all federal court cases discussing under what circumstances a civil forfeiture case, or civil discovery in such a case, should be stayed where an arguably parallel criminal case, or investigation, is pending. Federal cases not involving civil forfeiture, though addressing whether a stay should issue during the pendency of a related criminal action where the government is or is not a civil party or intervenor to the action are beyond the scope of this annotation.
