Witkin and West Announce the 5th Edition of Witkin, California Procedure

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 20, 2008 - The Witkin Legal Institute and West, part of Thomson Reuters, announce the publication of the 5th edition of Witkin, California Procedure, the definitive treatise on the subject.

The first volumes of the current edition of California Procedure were published in 1996. In the ensuing 12 years, thousands of appellate decisions have been published and hundreds of thousands of statutory changes have occurred. In that time, the California Rules of Court were entirely renumbered and official jury instructions were adopted.

Each topic in the new edition has been rewritten and revised, with particular attention to making the material easily accessible through the topical outline for each chapter. Sections are shorter and have more subdivisions, and the index has been vastly improved. Thousands of references to practice works, forms, annotations and other sources have been added.

California Procedure, 5th edition, was prepared by the attorneys and editors of the Witkin Legal Institute, who were selected and trained by Bernard E. Witkin.
