Ed Friedland is vice president and general counsel for Thomson Reuters Legal. Previously, he was assistant general counsel of The Thomson Corporation and, before that, associate general counsel of the Information/Publishing group from 1990 to 1993.

Ed's prior corporate experience includes associate general counsel positions at The Continental Corporation (insurance/financial services) and Macmillan Inc. (publishing). He began his legal practice at the law firm of Cooley Godward Kronish in New York City.

Ed received a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
